Lightweight Cordless Paint Sprayer Launched on Kickstarter
A new consumer-grade cordless spray gun called Hornet has launched on Kickstarter. The device, from a brand called TILSWALL, weighs 450 grams, which is claimed to be about one-third the weight of conventional models. It is being marketed to the DIY community for extended, fatigue-free use in surface treatment projects.
- The Kickstarter campaign for the Hornet sprayer surpassed its $3,837 funding goal, raising over $117,000 from more than 350 backers, with an estimated shipping date of May 2026. - TILSWALL, the brand behind the Hornet, was founded in 2016 in Shenzhen, China, and offers a portfolio of power tools that includes other paint sprayers and rotary tools. - The sprayer operates on a High Volume Low Pressure (HVLP) system powered by a 100,000 RPM brushless motor, a technology class also found in Dyson appliances. - It includes two solid copper nozzles (0.5 mm and 0.8 mm) and is powered by a dual 2000mAh lithium-ion battery system. - The target audience extends beyond general DIY to include makers, 3D printing enthusiasts, and hobbyists working on furniture restoration or automotive detailing. - Alongside the sprayer, TILSWALL is introducing a line of eco-friendly, low-odor peelable paints, allowing for non-permanent finishes on various projects. - The cordless paint sprayer market is seeing growth driven by a rise in home renovation projects and a consumer shift toward portable, battery-powered tools. - While many entry-level HVLP sprayers weigh around 1.5 kg, the Hornet's lower weight aims to reduce user fatigue, a key factor in achieving a smooth finish during long sessions.
