Foo Fighters Announce 12th Album

Foo Fighters announced their 12th studio album "Your Favorite Toy" for release on April 24, dropping the title track that showcases a new vocal approach from Dave Grohl. The band is co-producing with Oliver Roman and will support the release with a major summer stadium tour. Multiple outlets describe the track as having raw, driving energy and serving as "the key that unlocked" the new record.

- The band's previous album, "But Here We Are," was released in June 2023 as their first record following the 2022 death of longtime drummer Taylor Hawkins. Dave Grohl performed all the drum tracks on that album himself. - "Your Favorite Toy" will be the first Foo Fighters studio album to feature drummer Ilan Rubin, formerly of Nine Inch Nails, who joined the band in 2025. - Co-producer Oliver Roman is the in-house engineer at the band's Studio 606 and previously co-produced the Foo Fighters' 2025 singles "Today's Song" and "Asking for a Friend." - The summer tour, dubbed the "Take Cover" tour, will feature Queens of the Stone Age as the main support act for the North American dates. - The new vocal style on the title track has been described by music journalists as a "sardonic" and "snarling" tone, with some noting the use of heavy vocal distortion. - The final song on the new album, "Asking for a Friend," was first released as a single in October 2025 to announce the supporting tour.
