Pleasanton is offering a three-part series of free bicycle workshops with Bike East Bay, with the next session scheduled for Saturday, April 25. (cityofpleasantonca.gov) The classes are being held at the Pleasanton Amador Recreation Center at 4443 Black Avenue. Bike East Bay’s calendar lists the April 25 Family Cycling Workshop there from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. (bikeeastbay.org) Bike East Bay also lists an Urban Cycling 101 workshop in Pleasanton on April 18 and an Urban Cycling Day 2 on-road skills session on May 2 from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The group describes the classes as free and open to different experience levels. (bikeeastbay.org) The city’s biking page says Pleasanton offers bicycle safety classes throughout the year through certified Bike East Bay instructors. The same page ties the spring workshops to May’s Bike to Wherever and School Days events. (cityofpleasantonca.gov) The April 25 workshop is aimed at parents and children. Bike East Bay says instructors will lead games, safety drills, skills building and a neighborhood ride. (bikeeastbay.org) The April 18 Urban Cycling 101 class focused on rules of the road, helmet fit, bike equipment, street design and common crash prevention. The May 2 follow-up adds on-bike drills and traffic practice. (eventbrite.com, bikeeastbay.org) Bike East Bay says its education program is built around free classes that make bicycling safe, fun and accessible across the East Bay. Pleasanton’s partnership places that training inside a city recreation center instead of limiting it to advocacy or club settings. (bikeeastbay.org, cityofpleasantonca.gov) For Pleasanton riders, the immediate date on the calendar is Saturday’s family workshop, followed by the May 2 street-skills session. Registration for the classes is handled through Bike East Bay’s event listings. (eventbrite.com, bikeeastbay.org)
