WAAI entries open
The 2026 World Awards for African Imagery (WAAI) opened entries through April 30 and will award 222 prizes across categories—an expansive call for street, cultural and landscape photographers (www2.fundsforngos.org). The contest explicitly invites both professional and amateur shooters to submit urban and youth-culture work before the April 30 deadline (www2.fundsforngos.org).
The contest is organized by the North America Photography Association (NAPA) in partnership with the World Cultural Arts Organization (UNWCAO). (theworldphotographyawards.org) Entrants can submit via the event websites (www.napaWPA.com or theWorldPhotographyAwards.org) or by email to NapaPhotoPro@gmail.com, and there is no entry fee. (theworldphotographyawards.org) Submissions are grouped into four defined themes—Africa’s Landscapes, African Wildlife, Culture & Life, and Urban Africa & Modernity—with wildlife entries required to be from natural habitats or protected reserves (images from zoos, aquariums or farms are not accepted). (theworldphotographyawards.org) The awards follow a tiered structure (Gold, Silver, Bronze, Awards of Excellence and Finalist awards) that collectively recognize 222 selected works. (theworldphotographyawards.org) All official award recipients receive digital certificates, and organizers say printed certificates and medals can be provided on request. (deartline.com) Entrants retain full copyright of submitted images while granting the organizers a non‑exclusive, royalty‑free license for promotional, exhibition, educational and archival use. (fotoconcursos.com) Each photographer may enter up to six images per category, may submit to multiple categories, and the judging follows NAPA rules with winners determined by a voting committee; decisions are final.
