Daryaganj Restaurants has opened Daryaganj GOLD at GMR Square in Delhi Aerocity, adding a new premium-format outlet to its North Indian dining chain. (businessoffood.in) The new restaurant seats more than 150 guests and is Daryaganj’s second outlet in Aerocity, after its existing location at Worldmark 1. Restaurant India said the company is using the new site to push a larger, experience-led format in a high-footfall hospitality district. (restaurantindia.in) (daryaganj.com) Business of Food described GOLD as the brand’s first such outlet in India. The same report said the concept had already debuted in Bangkok earlier in 2026 before arriving in Delhi. (businessoffood.in) The opening extends a broader expansion plan that has moved beyond the chain’s original casual-dining footprint. In November 2025, Restaurant India reported that investor Anicut Capital had backed Daryaganj and that the company planned to take the GOLD concept into five-star hotel properties in India. (restaurantindia.in) Daryaganj is selling more than a new room and a bigger dining floor. The company’s pitch rests on its claim to the legacy of Kundan Lal Jaggi, whose family story the brand ties to the 1947 creation of butter chicken and dal makhani in Old Delhi. (daryaganj.com 1) (daryaganj.com 2) That legacy has become the spine of a newer restaurant company. Daryaganj said co-founders Raghav Jaggi and Amit Bagga launched the current brand in 2019 to revive those recipes in a modern chain format. (daryaganj.com 1) (daryaganj.com 2) The Bangkok move gave the company its first international outlet, with Restaurant India reporting in late 2024 that the location was set to open in January 2025 at Sukhumvit Soi 18 inside a five-star hotel. Daryaganj’s site now lists a Bangkok restaurant as part of its network. (restaurantindia.in) (daryaganj.com) The Aerocity launch puts that growth strategy back in Delhi, where the brand began. For Daryaganj, GOLD is the clearest sign yet that it wants to move its butter chicken-and-dal-makhani legacy into larger, more premium dining addresses. (businessoffood.in)
