ROXFIT App Integrates With Wearables

The hybrid training app ROXFIT now offers advanced integration with Garmin and Apple Watch. The platform leverages AI to provide personalized performance insights for athletes training for events like HYROX, underscoring the growing role of tech in optimizing workouts.

The ROXFIT platform is deeply embedded in the HYROX fitness racing scene, a sport that has seen explosive growth. Participation in HYROX events surged from 650 participants in 2017 to over 650,000 in 2024, with organizers aiming for 1 million participants by 2026. This rapid expansion created a demand for specialized digital training tools, a gap ROXFIT aims to fill. At the core of the app's new integration is an AI engine named HYPE, which functions as a personalized coach. Users can input their race date, specific weaknesses (like running or sled pushes), available training time, and equipment, and HYPE generates tailored, progressive workouts. This conversational AI allows athletes to move beyond generic training plans. The wearable integration syncs directly with Apple Health and Garmin Connect, pulling metrics like heart rate, calories burned, and distance. This data allows the app to provide real-time feedback during workouts and automatically update an athlete's training plan. For Garmin users, structured workouts can sometimes be synced directly to the device for on-wrist guidance. Beyond workout generation, the platform offers detailed race analytics. It can automatically identify an athlete's past and future HYROX races, providing station-by-station performance breakdowns and comparisons between events. This feature gives users insights into pacing, transition times, and overall efficiency that were previously difficult to track. Launched in 2024, the UK-based company has seen its user base grow to over 260,000 in 185 countries, largely through organic adoption within the HYROX community. The company recently secured an additional £1.9 million in seed funding to further develop its platform. While other fitness apps exist, ROXFIT's specific focus on hybrid racing sets it apart. Competitors like MyFitCoach and RepCount offer broader workout tracking, but ROXFIT provides purpose-built tools for the unique demands of events that combine running and functional strength exercises. Another app, ChAIron, focuses more on adaptive training and movement quality for year-round fitness.
