TECNO Unveils AI-Powered Phones
At MWC 2026 in Barcelona, TECNO is set to unveil its new flagship CAMON 50 Series smartphones. The launch will focus on the phone's AI-driven imaging capabilities and will also introduce a broader ecosystem of AI-enabled products from the company.
The new CAMON 50 series pairs flagship Sony camera hardware with a dedicated AI computing architecture. This enables features like Super-Zoom FlashSnap for high-speed action shots with no shutter lag and AI Auto Zoom, which intelligently frames subjects. Beyond photography, the phones function as a "Creative AI Hub," featuring an AI Art Gallery and a productivity tool called One-Tap FlashMemo. TECNO is also expanding its AI ecosystem with an upgraded Ella AI assistant integrated into the new HiOS 16 operating system. The company reported processing over 500 million user requests in 2025, with a focus on localization, including support for the Hausa language and improved recognition of African-accented English and French. A major highlight of the event is the announcement of a strategic partnership with Tonino Lamborghini. The collaboration will result in a co-created product lineup, including a gaming mini-PC called the Tonino Lamborghini TECNO TAURUS (MEGA MINI G1 Pro) and a limited edition POVA Metal smartphone. In addition to the CAMON 50, TECNO is showcasing a broader range of AI-enhanced products. This includes their MEGABOOK laptop portfolio, smart wearables, and an upgraded version of their cross-device interconnection solution, OneLeap, designed for seamless data transfer and task management between devices. Looking to the future, TECNO is also unveiling a concept for what it calls the world's thinnest modular smartphone, with a base profile of just 4.9mm. This ecosystem is built around magnetic modular interconnection technology, allowing users to attach modules like power banks, action cameras, and telephoto lenses.
