Travis Scott founded Cactus Jack in 2017, naming it after his record label, with "Jack" a nod to his father and Texas roots. The brand reflects Scott's blend of music, streetwear, and unique artistic vision. Cactus Jack's aesthetic often includes psychedelic imagery and Southwestern influences. Barcelona's connection to the colors blue and garnet (blaugrana) dates back to the club's founding in 1899. The club believes the colors were inspired by the rugby team of Merchant Taylors school in Crosby, Liverpool, attended by two early club members. For most of its history, the club's kits have featured either vertical stripes or a half-and-half design in these colors. Spotify became Barcelona's main partner in 2022, a deal that was extended to 2030. The agreement covers the men's and women's teams' jerseys and training kits. Spotify also holds the naming rights for Camp Nou until 2034. The Spotify partnership has included artist-themed jerseys before, with previous collaborations featuring Drake, Rosalía, and the Rolling Stones. For this El Clásico, Travis Scott also performed in Barcelona for the first time. A limited-edition capsule collection with Cactus Jack apparel accompanied the jersey release.
