Expect works by M.C. Escher, Isaac Abrams, Fred Tomaselli, and Aleah Chapin. Sounds like a trip!
The *Supernal Light* exhibition is opening on March 21, 2026, at the All One Gallery in Entheon, a 12,000-square-foot museum at the Chapel of Sacred Mirrors (CoSM). CoSM, founded by artists Alex and Allyson Grey, is a transdenominational church and non-profit that serves as a sanctuary for spiritual renewal through transformative art. The opening will feature an artist panel discussion with in-person appearances by Aleah Chapin and Isaac Abrams, and other artists joining remotely. Entheon, which means "a place to discover the God within," is inspired by the Pantheon in Rome. It is a three-story museum exhibiting visionary art. Visionary art expresses profound spiritual or metaphysical experiences, often showcasing vibrant colors and surreal imagery. The intention behind CoSM and Entheon is to inspire an experience of the divine through the contemplation of this art. M.C. Escher (1898-1972), a Dutch graphic artist, is known for mind-bending optical illusions and impossible constructions. Despite a lack of formal mathematical training, Escher intuitively combined mathematics with intricate realism and fantasy. Jeffrey Price, a gallerist and historian, is generously loaning twelve Escher limited edition prints and a rare sculpture for the exhibit. Isaac Abrams, born in 1939, is an American artist and one of the founders of psychedelic art. His dreamlike paintings blend cosmological and microscopic elements, reflecting a dialogue between art, culture, and the social phenomena of his time. Abrams's art career began after an LSD session in 1965, which inspired him to open the Coda Gallery, the first gallery of psychedelic art. Fred Tomaselli, born in 1956, creates detailed paintings that mix natural materials like leaves and seeds with collaged imagery and painted patterns under layers of resin. His psychedelic paintings explore human perception and the complexity of the natural world. Tomaselli's works often incorporate images from field guides and nature books, assembled into geometric patterns. Aleah Chapin, born in 1986, is an American painter known for her direct portrayals of the human form. Eric Fischl described her as "the best and most disturbing painter of flesh alive today". Chapin's work explores aging, gender, and beauty, influenced by her upbringing on Whidbey Island. The Vernal Equinox Celebration, accompanying the *Supernal Light* opening, includes a ceremony led by Alex and Allyson Grey, large-scale projections, live music, and a bonfire. CoSM has hosted over 270 lunar parties since its founding in Manhattan in 2004. The 40-acre CoSM campus in Wappingers Falls includes guest rooms, a cafe, a gallery, and trails.
