Eagles Lock Davis $78M

The Philadelphia Eagles have locked in defensive tackle Jordan Davis with a three-year, $78 million contract extension. The deal is being called "record-setting" for the position and ensures Philadelphia's defensive line remains one of the league's most formidable. The move signals the franchise's commitment to building around its young core and keeping elite talent in the trenches for years to come.

With an average annual salary of $26 million, Davis's new deal ties him for the second-highest-paid interior defensive lineman in the league, behind only Chris Jones of the Kansas City Chiefs. The contract includes a significant $65 million in guaranteed money. This extension makes him the highest-paid nose tackle in the history of the NFL. The massive extension comes after a career-best season for Davis in 2025, where he recorded personal bests in tackles (72), sacks (4.5), and tackles for loss (9). He also played a career-high 61% of the defensive snaps, demonstrating his increased durability and importance to the defense. A first-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, taken 13th overall, Davis was a standout player at the University of Georgia. During his time with the Bulldogs, he won a College Football Playoff National Championship in 2021 and was awarded both the Chuck Bednarik Award and the Outland Trophy as a senior. This move is a clear indication of the Eagles' commitment to building a dominant defensive front. By securing Davis, they have locked down a key piece of their interior line, which also features his former Georgia teammate, Jalen Carter, who is also eligible for a contract extension.
