Local musical theatre shows

PlainwellSchools announced 'Musical Week' shows running March 27–29 at the Performing Arts Center, offering community access to live school theatre this weekend. The schedule is part of local performance programming that feeds regional indie theatre and student arts scenes. (x.com)

Plainwell High School’s spring production is the musical Hadestown, billed on the district’s event feed as the 2026 PHS spring musical. (plainwellschools.org) Tickets are being sold through Plainwell Schools’ official Ludus ticket portal, which lists Hadestown as an upcoming event and accepts online purchases. (plainwellschools.ludus.com) District posts and event listings show three performances are planned and the school released a character-trailer-style sneak peek on its YouTube channel ahead of opening. (plainwellschools.org) The Plainwell Performing Arts Center, where the show will be staged, has 750 fixed seats, a 65′ x 30′ main stage, an ADA-accessible orchestra pit, two makeup rooms and a 3,500 sq. ft. lobby; the facility was dedicated in November 2010. (plainwellschools.org) Hadestown’s standard running time on Broadway is about 2 hours 30 minutes including an intermission, and the show—by Anaïs Mitchell—carries Tony and Grammy recognitions that indicate the production’s musical and staging demands. (hadestown.com) Plainwell’s school communications note cast members Avry Asbury and Lydia Roberts appeared on the student Trojan Table podcast to promote the show, and the district’s ticketing cart page reiterates that all sales are final.
