Calidi to Present New BiTEs Platform

Calidi Biotherapeutics is set to present on its RedTail platform for delivering bispecific T-cell engagers (BiTEs) at the 2026 AACR-IO Conference. The presentation highlights the ongoing diversification of cell therapy modalities. Each new modality presents unique manufacturing and analytical challenges for the industry.

- While BiTEs have proven effective in hematological cancers, their use in solid tumors is often hindered by the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment (TME). Calidi's strategy is to use its RedTail virotherapy platform to make tumor cells produce an IL-15 superagonist, a potent T-cell activator, directly within the TME. - The RedTail platform is built on an engineered vaccinia virus, which has a large capacity for genetic payloads and naturally gravitates toward tumor cells. Calidi's manufacturing process optimizes for a specific viral form that is better shielded from the immune system, addressing a key challenge for systemically delivered virotherapies. - Calidi is conducting Investigational New Drug (IND)-enabling studies for its lead
