Transcontinental Names New Corporate Affairs VP

Transcontinental Inc. has appointed François Gratton as its new Vice President of Corporate Affairs, effective March 1, 2026. In his new role, Gratton will oversee government relations, communications, brand management, and the company's ESG strategy.

- François Gratton previously served as Executive Vice-President and Group President at TELUS, where he was responsible for TELUS Health and TELUS Agriculture, growing the latter into one of the largest agriculture software providers in the world, serving customers in over 50 countries. - The appointment comes as Transcontinental undergoes a major strategic shift, having recently sold its packaging division to ProAmpac Holdings Inc. for approximately $2.1 billion. - Shareholders approved the sale of the packaging business on February 2, 2026, with the deal expected to close in the first quarter of 2026. - Post-sale, Transcontinental will focus on its Retail Services & Printing and Educational Publishing businesses, aiming to grow its presence in Canada. - Gratton is taking over the corporate affairs role from François Taschereau, who was the Vice President of Corporate Communications & Public Affairs. - In its fiscal year 2025, Transcontinental generated $2.7 billion in revenue and is now positioning itself for a new chapter with a strong focus on its Canadian-based operations. - Gratton holds a Bachelor of Law from the Université de Montréal and an MBA from Harvard Business School. - His responsibilities will include guiding the company's Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategy as Transcontinental navigates its new corporate structure.
