It said Claude Code’s five-hour rate limits are now doubled for Pro, Max, Team, and seat-based Enterprise plans, and it also raised API rate limits for Claude Opus models. The company framed those changes as possible because of fresh compute supply, including the new SpaceX agreement. ### What is Colossus 1? Colossus 1 is a massive AI data-center buildout in Memphis. Anthropic said the SpaceX deal gives it access to more than 300 megawatts of new capacity and over 220,000 Nvidia GPUs within a month. The deeper shift is that AI product design is being set by infrastructure procurement. A higher rate limit now implies a supply chain behind it — GPU clusters, electricity, networking, and contracts large enough to reserve them. Inference here, but a pretty safe one: just the ones with the best model demos. ### What is the catch? More capacity solves one bottleneck, but it does not end the arms race.
