Ocean View St. Patrick's Day Parade

The 59th Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade in Ocean View is set for Saturday. Expect a vibrant community gathering followed by afterparties.

The 59th annual Ocean View St. Patrick's Day Parade is happening Saturday, March 14, 2026, stepping off at 10 a.m. from Northside Middle School. The route goes north on Granby Street, then left on A View Avenue, left again on First View Street, ending at Government Avenue. Chuck McPhillips, a Norfolk community leader and grandson of Irish immigrants, will be the Grand Marshal. The parade, sponsored by Norfolk Parade, Incorporated, is a long-standing tradition celebrating Irish heritage. Granby Street closes at 7:30 a.m. from Bayview Boulevard to Bay Avenue. The rest of the route will be closed by 9 a.m.. Most streets reopen by noon, but First View Street stays closed until 1:30 p.m., and Government Avenue until 4:30 p.m. Off-street parking is available at Sarah Constant Beach Park, Ocean View Beach Park, Ocean View Elementary, and Pretlow Library. Parking on medians is allowed after 5 p.m. on Thursday, March 12, but only on non-curbed medians not marked by police. Illegally parked cars will be towed. The Columbian Club of Ocean View is hosting an after-parade party at 211 W. Government Ave, with food, live music, and refreshments. The Tiki Bar Band will play inside, and The Janitors outside. A celebration dinner and dance, produced by Norfolk Parade, Inc., will be held on March 7, with tickets available for $35.
