NASCAR Phoenix I Results
Ryan Blaney won the NASCAR Cup at Phoenix I, with Josef Newgarden winning the IndyCar race at the same track.
Blaney's victory at Phoenix marked his first of 2026 and the 18th Cup Series win of his career. He had to battle back from two pit road miscues, including a penalty for pitting outside his box. The final stage saw constant strategy calls, with Blaney's crew chief making a call for two tires on the last stop. Blaney passed Ty Gibbs with 10 laps remaining and held off Christopher Bell to secure the win. This win completed a Team Penske sweep of the weekend at Phoenix, with Josef Newgarden winning the IndyCar race on Saturday. It also marked Ford's first NASCAR Cup Series win of the season. Newgarden's IndyCar victory was his 33rd career win, placing him 10th on the IndyCar all-time win list. He took the lead with seven laps to go, passing Kyle Kirkwood. This win also put him on top of the IndyCar standings.
