Netflix Chef Opens Tribeca Art-Food Fusion
Netflix star chef London Chase is opening Seventy Seven Alley in NYC's Tribeca, a chef-driven restaurant inspired by the neighborhood's gallery culture. The new venue aims to bridge the worlds of art and cuisine with a menu and atmosphere reflecting Tribeca's creative energy. It's positioned to become a sought-after spot for those who appreciate the intersection of food, art, and urban lifestyle.
Seventy Seven Alley is tucked inside the Walker Hotel Tribeca on the historic Cortlandt Alley and is set to open on Friday, March 6. The restaurant aims to feel more like a working creative studio than a traditional dining room, aligning with Tribeca's vibrant gallery scene. Chef London Chase, a competitor on Netflix's "Next Gen Chef," brings a global perspective to the kitchen. Born in French Guiana and raised in London, his culinary background includes stints at prestigious restaurants like Le Gavroche in London, Orsa & Winston in Los Angeles, and Manhatta in New York. The menu is structured around the elemental taste profiles of heat, acid, salt, depth, and fat. Signature dishes include a Viking Village Scallop with pickled napa cabbage and a unique take on a New York classic: a chopped cheese made with koji-aged wagyu and truffle. An eight-seat Chef's Counter will offer an immersive tasting experience, providing a direct view of the culinary team at work. The beverage program is designed to mirror the menu's flavor-first philosophy, with cocktails like the "Fat Duck," made with bacon fat-washed Toki whiskey. True to its artistic inspiration, the dining room will double as a revolving gallery. The initial exhibition will feature artwork created by Chef Chase himself, reinforcing the concept of the restaurant as a living creative space.
