Phemex Integrates Ondo's Tokenized Assets
Crypto platform Phemex announced the full integration of Ondo Finance's suite of tokenized stocks. The move positions Phemex within the "Real-World Asset" (RWA) tokenization trend, which involves representing traditional financial assets on a blockchain. The integration was also confirmed in separate company statements.
- The integration provides Phemex's 10 million users with access to 14 of Ondo's tokenized blue-chip assets. This includes tech giants like NVIDIA, Tesla, Apple, and Amazon, as well as financial instruments like the Nasdaq 100 and SPDR S&P 500 ETFs. - The Real-World Asset (RWA) tokenization market was valued at approximately $35.78 billion as of November 2025, a significant increase from $2.9 billion in 2022. Projections suggest the market could reach between $3.5 trillion and $10 trillion by 2030. - Ondo Finance has been actively engaging with U.S. regulators, including a meeting with the SEC's Crypto Asset Working Group in April 2025 to discuss regulatory frameworks for tokenized securities. In December 2025, the company submitted a "Roadmap for Tokenized Securities" to the SEC. - Beyond its Phemex integration, Ondo Finance has established partnerships with other major financial players, including Mastercard to link real-world assets to its Multi-Token Network and Chainlink for data verification of its tokenized assets. - The process of tokenizing a real-world asset involves off-chain verification of the asset's existence and ownership, integrating real-world data onto the blockchain via oracles like Chainlink, and then creating digital tokens that represent ownership. - Tokenized U.S. Treasuries are the fastest-growing RWA category, with a market value reaching $8.7 billion by October 2025, a 251% increase year-over-year. - Ondo Finance's offerings are currently targeted at non-U.S. individual and institutional investors due to the securities not being registered under the U.S. Securities Act of 1933. - The Ethereum network is the dominant blockchain for tokenized RWAs, accounting for almost 34% of the total on-chain value and surpassing $17 billion in early 2026, a 315% increase from the previous year.
