Lucky Grocery Closing in NoPa

The Lucky grocery store at 1750 Fulton Street in San Francisco's NoPa is closing permanently on September 11 [https://sfgate.com/food/article/sf-grocery-store-closure-22073471.php].

The Lucky supermarket's closure at 1750 Fulton St. will leave 48 employees without jobs. Affected positions include 31 multipurpose clerks, managers, service specialists, head clerks, and a meat cutter. Some employees may be eligible to transfer to other Lucky locations depending on seniority and availability. Save Mart Companies, Lucky's parent company, cited continued financial struggles as the reason for the closure. Despite efforts to remodel and enhance the location, the store has reportedly lost money year after year. The company routinely assesses store performance to ensure they meet business standards. This closure follows a string of recent grocery store disruptions in San Francisco. The Lucky store in Bayview closed last year, and Safeway closed its Fillmore location in 2025. With the Fulton Street Lucky closing, only one Lucky store will remain in San Francisco, located at 1515 Sloat Blvd.
