Tencent offers one‑click Hermes deployment

Tencent AI Lab launched a one‑click deployment for NousResearch’s Hermes agent on Tencent Lighthouse, enabling cloud‑hosted, always‑online access across messaging platforms like WhatsApp and Telegram with QQBot integration. The move packages a frontier agent for easy enterprise hosting on Tencent’s cloud platform. (x.com)

Tencent Cloud has added a Lighthouse image for Hermes Agent, turning Nous Research’s open-source assistant into a one-click cloud deployment. (tencentcloud.com) Hermes Agent is designed to run on a server instead of a laptop, keep memory across sessions, and create or improve reusable skills as it works. Nous Research’s documentation says it can be installed on Linux, macOS, and Windows Subsystem for Linux 2, with Linux the recommended setup. (hermes-agent.nousresearch.com, tencentcloud.com) Tencent published the Lighthouse deployment guide on April 10, 2026, and said the template can be launched in minutes. Its setup notes recommend a 2 virtual central processing unit, 4 gigabyte server for smoother use, while saying 2 virtual central processing units and 2 gigabytes is enough for basic testing. (tencentcloud.com, cloud.tencent.com.cn) The product being packaged here is an “agent,” which is software that can take actions like running terminal commands, reading files, or automating browser tasks instead of only answering prompts. Tencent’s guide says that level of system access is why Hermes should run in an isolated environment rather than on a personal main computer. (tencentcloud.com) That cloud setup also changes how the software is used. Tencent says a Lighthouse-hosted Hermes instance can stay online 24 hours a day and be reached through chat apps, while Nous Research lists gateways for Telegram, Discord, Slack, WhatsApp, Signal, Matrix, Mattermost, email, short message service, DingTalk, Feishu, WeCom, and Home Assistant. (tencentcloud.com, hermes-agent.nousresearch.com) Tencent’s version leans into Chinese messaging platforms as well as global ones. Hermes now has a documentation page for the official QQ Bot application programming interface, covering private chats, group mentions, guild messages, and direct messages, and Tencent’s materials highlight WeCom and DingTalk connections. (hermes-agent.nousresearch.com, cloud.tencent.com.cn) The launch also plugs Tencent into one of the fastest-growing open-source agent projects of the month. The main Hermes Agent repository showed about 60,800 GitHub stars when it was crawled this week, and Tencent’s April 10 guide described the project as newly released in April 2026. (github.com, tencentcloud.com) Tencent is not changing Hermes’s core model layer so much as wrapping it in hosting, networking, and messaging defaults that enterprises can buy off the shelf. The result is a frontier-style agent that moves from a command-line install to a managed cloud image with Tencent billing, server provisioning, and chat-channel hookups already in place.
