Bam Adebayo Reaches 10,000 Career Points

Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo scored his 10,000th career point, joining Dwyane Wade as one of the only players in franchise history to reach the milestone. Such events provide prime opportunities for teams to drive fan engagement through location-based digital collectibles or in-arena commemorations.

While Dwyane Wade is the only other player in Miami Heat history to score 10,000 points, the franchise has seen other prolific scorers. Alonzo Mourning, a Hall of Fame center, is third on the team's all-time scoring list with 9,459 points, and sharpshooter Glen Rice is fourth with 9,248. Wade's franchise record of 21,556 points remains a distant target. Adebayo’s journey to 10,000 points highlights a significant evolution in his game. Initially drafted from Kentucky for his defensive prowess and as a "lob threat," he has developed into a consistent offensive force. This season marks his sixth in a row averaging at least 18 points per game. The milestone-clinching performance against the Detroit Pistons showcased his expanded offensive arsenal. Adebayo scored 24 points, hitting the 10,000-point mark exactly, and notably made four three-pointers in the game. This single-game total for three-pointers matched his output from the previous two seasons combined, demonstrating the growth in his shooting range. While the scoring milestone is significant, Adebayo is approaching another major franchise record. He currently sits second in all-time rebounds for the Heat, trailing only Udonis Haslem. Adebayo is also closing in on Haslem's record for defensive rebounds.
