Off-White Debuts Jazz-Inspired Collection
Off-White's Fall 2026 Ready-to-Wear collection debuted at Paris Fashion Week with creative director IB Kamara drawing inspiration from jazz's abstraction and improvisation. The line continues Off-White's commitment to blending streetwear edge with high-art influences. The collection reflects the brand's evolution under Kamara's creative direction.
The Fall 2026 collection, titled "Mr. Davis," was a direct tribute to jazz legend Miles Davis and was created in collaboration with his estate. Creative Director Ib Kamara was particularly inspired by the experimental and genre-bending music Davis produced during his relationship with singer Betty Davis, who is credited with sparking a period of artistic disruption for him. The collection explores the dynamic between Miles Davis' funk-infused energy and Betty Davis' unapologetic sensuality. This duality was represented through contrasts in the clothing, pairing structured, sharp silhouettes with the fluidity of brightly colored lace and unexpected transparencies. Key visual motifs in the collection included polka dots, described as being studded across looks like musical notes, and the brand's "Meteor" code, which added disruptive eyelets to denim and tops. The show's opening look featured a brown suede patchwork trench coat with red logo embroidery, setting the tone for the collection's eclectic mix of sportswear and eveningwear. This collection continues Kamara's journey of evolving the Off-White brand since he was appointed Art and Image Director in 2022. Having previously worked with founder Virgil Abloh as a stylist, Kamara is now tasked with carrying on Abloh's legacy of cultural collage and disruption while forging a new path for the house.
