Guardforce AI Extends Smart Retail Deal
Guardforce AI, a company specializing in agentic AI and robotics, announced the extension of its partnership with the Thailand branch of a major global sportswear brand. The company will continue to provide its smart retail business solutions, which include automation and robotics, to the client. The extension points to continued adoption of AI-driven solutions in retail operations.
The extended partnership will see Guardforce AI's solutions deployed at five additional retail locations for the sportswear brand in 2026, with another installation scheduled for 2027. This follows a successful proof of concept in mid-2025, after which the company installed AI camera systems in 13 stores and deployed full smart retail solutions in two of the brand's locations. Guardforce AI's smart retail stack integrates AI-powered CCTV surveillance analytics with RFID-based inventory management systems. This combination is designed to enhance store security, reduce inventory inaccuracies, cut down on manual labor, and provide data that correlates foot traffic with sales performance. The system provides a more efficient way for high-traffic retailers to manage goods, people, and physical spaces compared to traditional monitoring. This deal is part of a broader national renovation plan for the sportswear giant, positioning Guardforce AI as a key technology partner in their efforts to modernize stores across Thailand. The adoption of such technologies aligns with a wider trend in the Thai retail sector, where AI is being increasingly used for inventory management, price optimization, and personalized marketing to improve operational efficiency. The technology is powered by Guardforce AI's proprietary Intelligent Cloud Platform (ICP). This platform serves as the backbone for the company's various offerings, including Robotics-as-a-Service (RaaS) and other agentic AI applications, by orchestrating data and decisions in real-time. Beyond retail, Guardforce AI has been actively expanding its AI and robotics commercialization in Thailand. In November 2025, the company announced the rollout of its RaaS operations integrated with its AI Agent platform, targeting sectors like travel and events with solutions such as the "Wishnote" event robot. This strategy highlights a shift from a traditional security provider to a technology-focused company centered on a unified AI ecosystem.
