New Sports Bar "Pivot" Opens in Pleasanton
A new sports bar and restaurant named Pivot is opening in Pleasanton, designed to provide a stadium-like viewing experience. The venue features private suites and a patio, aiming to be a new hub for local sports fans.
Pivot is the latest venture from the Sabio Hospitality Group, which also operates the acclaimed Sabio on Main in downtown Pleasanton. The culinary program is led by Chef Francis X. Hogan, a five-time Michelin Guide-recognized chef, who brings his philosophy of using sustainable, seasonal ingredients to the new sports bar concept. The 10,000-square-foot venue, formerly occupied by Faz Restaurant & Catering, aims to provide more than a typical game-day viewing experience. Its private suites are inspired by high-end arena box seating, complete with full wet bars, wood-grained ceilings, and full AV connections for meetings or private watch parties. Beyond the private suites, Pivot will feature two Topgolf Swing Suites, offering simulated sports experiences for larger groups of up to 75 people. An expansive outdoor patio with five fireplaces and over 100 seats is also part of the phased opening plan. Chef Hogan, who co-founded Sabio on Main in 2015 after honing his skills in San Francisco and Philadelphia, is developing an elevated sports bar menu. The kitchen will focus on craft and scratch cooking, including three-day-brined wings and wood-fired dishes, paired with a robust craft beer and tap-wine program.
