Recalls Issued for Air Purifiers, AC Units, and Snowblowers
Over 191,000 Aroeve air purifiers have been recalled due to overheating and fire hazards. Separately, 1.7 million Midea U and U+ air conditioners were recalled for mold risks. The recall landscape also includes Yardworks electric snowblowers, which were flagged for electrical hazards.
- The Aroeve recall targets the MK04 model after 37 reports of overheating, which included one fire incident. These units were sold online through Amazon, Shopify, TEMU, and TikTok for between $80 and $134. - The recalled Aroeve air purifiers were manufactured before July 2025 and have a serial number that begins with "BN." The importer, Airova Inc., is offering a free replacement to consumers. - The Midea air conditioner recall was initiated because pooled water can fail to drain properly, leading to mold growth. There have been at least 152 reports of mold, with 17 consumers reporting health issues like respiratory infections and allergic reactions. - Midea manufactured the recalled AC units that were also sold under other brand names, including Frigidaire, Insignia, Danby, and Comfort Aire. Owners of the affected units can contact Midea for a full refund or a free repair. - The Yardworks snowblower recall, which affects 25,400 units sold in Canada, was issued because the power cable can become brittle and break in temperatures below -20 degrees Celsius. - There have been 13 reported incidents of the Yardworks snowblower's power cord breaking, though no injuries have been reported.
