The All American Rejects' "Move Along" is celebrating its 20th anniversary, with throwback posts garnering 40,000 likes. Social media users are calling for more tracks in the same style, highlighting the enduring appeal of mid-2000s alternative rock.
Released on July 12, 2005, "Move Along" was The All-American Rejects' second studio album. It debuted at number 6 on the Billboard 200 chart, selling 90,000 copies in its first week and ultimately achieving triple-platinum status in the U.S. The album spawned three major hit singles that all reached the top 15 of the Billboard Hot 100. "Dirty Little Secret" peaked at number 9, "It Ends Tonight" reached number 8, and the title track "Move Along" climbed to number 15. "Move Along" marked a significant step for the band, establishing them as mainstream successes after their 2002 debut album which featured the popular single "Swing, Swing". The album was the first to feature the full band lineup with guitarist Mike Kennerty and drummer Chris Gaylor. The band's follow-up album in 2008, "When the World Comes Down," continued their success and featured their highest-charting single to date, "Gives You Hell," which peaked at number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100. The All-American Rejects have continued to tour and are slated to release their fifth studio album, "Sandbox," in 2026. The band has also announced a European and U.K. tour for the summer of 2026, their first in 14 years.
