Honey Dijon Drops Star-Studded Album
Acclaimed DJ and producer Honey Dijon announced her new album *Nightlife* featuring collaborations with Rochelle Jordan, Madison McFerrin, Greentea Peng, Chlöe, Mahalia, and Bree Runway. The project promises a fusion of R&B, dance, and alternative sounds positioning it as a standout spring release.
This new project follows her critically acclaimed 2022 album, *Black Girl Magic*, a 15-track house extravaganza dedicated to the love of music, community, and self. That album featured collaborations with artists like Channel Tres and Eve. A Chicago native mentored by house legends like Derrick Carter, Honey Dijon has become a global force in dance music. Her work extends beyond the DJ booth; she has created runway soundtracks for Dior and Louis Vuitton and launched her own fashion line, Honey Fucking Dijon, with Comme des Garçons. In 2023, Dijon's production work on two tracks from Beyoncé's *Renaissance*, "Cozy" and "Alien Superstar," earned her a Grammy Award for Best Dance/Electronic Album. The album was a celebration of Black LGBTQ+ pioneers in ballroom and dance music, a history Honey Dijon was tapped to help authentically represent. The guest list for *Nightlife* highlights a range of genre-bending artists. Rochelle Jordan is known for her visionary blend of alternative R&B with electronic, house, and UK garage influences. Madison McFerrin, daughter of vocalist Bobby McFerrin, has a distinct style dubbed "soul-appella" by Questlove, layering her vocals to blend R&B, pop, soul, and jazz. London's Greentea Peng brings a psychedelic R&B sound, mixing soul, hip-hop, and reggae, with lyrical themes of spirituality and identity. Chlöe, known for her work in the duo Chloe x Halle, has a solo sound that seamlessly blends R&B, soul, and hip-hop. British singer-songwriter Mahalia is a force in the neo-soul and R&B worlds. Rounding out the features, British rapper and singer Bree Runway is known for her "destructive pop," a high-energy, genre-fluid sound that pulls from pop, trap, dance, and R&B.
