McIlroy skips RBC Heritage

Rory McIlroy is not in the field for this week’s RBC Heritage, the PGA Tour’s signature event at Harbour Town Golf Links that began Thursday, April 16. Us Weekly reported that McIlroy, his wife Erica Stoll, their daughter Poppy, and his parents Rosie and Gerry returned to Florida by private jet after the win. Harbour Town is a signature event, the PGA Tour label for limited-field tournaments with elevated purses and many of the top-ranked players. In 2023, he skipped the RBC Heritage and lost $3 million from his Player Impact Program bonus after missing a second designated event, but Yahoo reported the Tour’s event rules have since changed.
