ABI Research Ranks Commercial Telematics Firms

In a new competitive ranking of commercial video telematics providers, ABI Research identified Lytx, Samsara, Geotab, and Motive as the market leaders. The report highlights top performers in both innovation and implementation, noting that providers are racing to deploy advanced AI solutions to improve driver safety and operational efficiency.

- The global commercial telematics market was valued at USD 85.66 billion in 2025 and is projected to grow to USD 104.90 billion in 2026. - ABI Research's evaluation of telematics providers is based on two main criteria: innovation and implementation. Innovation is assessed on aspects like solution options and open platforms, while implementation considers market share, geographical reach, and time to value. - Lytx's video telematics solution utilizes machine vision and artificial intelligence (MV+AI) to identify risky behaviors such as handheld device use, lack of seatbelt, eating, drinking, and smoking with over 95% accuracy. Their technology is trained on a massive dataset of over 311 billion miles of commercial driving data. - Geotab, which was ranked number one for implementation, has a significant market presence with over 4.7 million connected vehicle subscriptions and a marketplace of more than 430 partner solutions. Their new "Go Focus Pro" AI-powered dash cam offers 360-degree visibility and can detect forward-collision risks and vulnerable road users in blind spots. - Samsara's platform includes an AI multi-camera system that can provide a 360-degree view around the vehicle to reduce blind spots. The company has also introduced new AI features that can detect risky driving, trigger real-time alerts, and automatically assign coaching to drivers based on the severity of the event. - Motive's latest "AI Dashcam Plus" features three times more AI processing power than previous models, allowing it to run over 30 AI models at the same time. It also uses advanced sensor fusion, which combines video, audio, and motion data to detect complex events like collisions or break-ins.
