Kanye Announces Rare SoFi Show

Kanye West will play SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on April 3 — his first major U.S. show in years and billed as his "only performance in Los Angeles." The concert is timed to coincide with his upcoming album release.

The upcoming performance is in support of West's long-delayed twelfth studio album, "Bully." First announced in September 2024, the album has missed multiple release dates and undergone various changes, with some early versions reportedly featuring AI-generated vocals. This concert marks a return to a venue of significant scale for the artist. SoFi Stadium, home to the NFL's Rams and Chargers, has a seating capacity of roughly 70,000, expandable to over 100,000 for major events like the Super Bowl and the upcoming FIFA World Cup. While West appeared at the Rolling Loud festival in the SoFi Stadium parking lot in 2024, it was described as more of a listening session for his "Vultures 1" album with Ty Dolla Sign. His last full-scale, multi-city U.S. concert tour was the Saint Pablo Tour back in 2016. The long absence from major U.S. stages follows a period of intense controversy for West, who now goes by Ye. Since 2022, he has faced widespread condemnation and the loss of major corporate partnerships, including with Adidas, for making a series of antisemitic comments. The rapper's pattern of erratic behavior has also included numerous social media tirades and polarizing public appearances with his wife, Bianca Censori. The SoFi show follows a recent full-page ad West took out in the Wall Street Journal apologizing for his antisemitic remarks.
