Kansas Dominates UCF 56-35

Kansas delivered a defensive clinic, stifling UCF 56-35 in the first round of the Big 12 men's tournament. The Jayhawks' ability to limit scoring opportunities and control tempo set the tone for their tournament run, holding UCF to just 35 points total.

The 35 points allowed by Kansas were the fewest in the history of the Big 12 women's tournament. The Jayhawks' defense was suffocating, limiting UCF to just 24.6% shooting from the field and a mere 10.5% from three-point range. This victory marked the second time in the 2025-2026 season that Kansas defeated UCF, with the first win coming on January 4th in Orlando. The Jayhawks have a 4-1 all-time record against the Knights. Freshman forward Jaliya Davis was a standout performer for the Jayhawks, securing her third double-double of the season with 10 points and 11 rebounds. The Kansas bench also played a pivotal role, contributing 29 points to the winning effort. The game, played at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri, was the first round of the Phillips 66 Big 12 Women's Basketball Tournament. With the win, the 11th-seeded Jayhawks improved to 19-12 on the season and advanced to face the 6th-seeded Colorado Buffaloes in the second round.
