UQPAY Launches Fiat-Stablecoin Payment Stack

Singapore-based fintech UQPAY has launched a full-stack payment infrastructure designed to bridge fiat and stablecoins. The platform unifies global acquiring, card issuing, and stablecoin accounts into a single system for global commerce.

Founded in 2016 by CEO Li Wangjian, UQPAY Group is a global fintech firm headquartered in Singapore with operations in major financial hubs across Asia, Europe, and North America. The company recently secured a Capital Markets Services (CMS) License from the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), signaling a strong regulatory footing for its expansion. The platform's core is a "dual-rail architecture" that merges traditional payment systems with a multi-chain stablecoin infrastructure. This allows businesses to accept, convert, and settle payments in over 140 fiat currencies alongside stablecoins like USDC, USDT, and XUSD across more than 200 markets. A key feature is the integration of the Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP), designed as a payment operating system for both human and machine-initiated transactions. UQPAY's Australian division has specifically launched a platform compatible with the AI-native x402 payment protocol, targeting automated services and machine-to-machine (M2M) commerce. UQPAY is also a principal member of Visa, Mastercard, and UnionPay International, embedding its services within the global card payment ecosystem. This integration aims to bridge the gap between legacy financial rails and the emerging digital asset economy for its enterprise clients. The company's strategic vision includes fostering a broader fintech ecosystem, highlighted by a $10 million strategic investment in StraitsX, the MAS-licensed issuer of the XSGD stablecoin. Following its CMS license approval, UQPAY also announced plans to launch a private equity fund in the first quarter of 2026 to invest across the fintech sector.
