The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government's efforts have paid off, as the Imran Khan Cricket Stadium in Peshawar is set to host its first-ever PSL match on March 28. Peshawar Zalmi will face Rawalpindi Pindiz in a day fixture. The stadium, formerly known as Arbab Niaz Stadium, has been undergoing renovations to meet international standards. A high-level security meeting, attended by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, KPK Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, and other top officials, gave the go-ahead for PSL matches in Peshawar after reviewing the province's security situation. Interior Minister Naqvi highlighted that 60% of the national team's players belong to KP, emphasizing the region's contribution to cricket. He also pledged to support domestic cricket in KP to nurture local talent. The PCB unveiled the full PSL 11 schedule on March 10, 2026, with the tournament running from March 26 to May 3. This year marks the first time that eight teams will participate, including new franchises Hyderabad Kingsmen and Rawalpindi Pindiz. Matches will be held across six venues: Faisalabad, Karachi, Lahore, Multan, Peshawar, and Rawalpindi.
