The Jamaica Food and Drink Festival (JFDF) partnered with the Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee Festival on March 7, 2026, at Hope Gardens. The event showcased Jamaica's street food alongside its world-renowned Blue Mountain coffee. This collaboration featured over 80 vendors and aimed to promote Jamaica's coffee traditions and culinary heritage. The festival included a barista competition, where Rusean Waite from Café Blue Fontana in Montego Bay won the top prize. Ricardo Jackson and Nickolas Herron secured second and third place, respectively. Randeen Thomas won the mixology competition. The event was part of a broader strategy to promote gastronomy tourism in Jamaica. Minister of Tourism Edmund Bartlett highlighted the importance of blending coffee and food to attract tourists. The goal is to capture a larger share of the global gastronomy market, which was estimated at US$2.1 trillion the previous year.
