(kron4.com) Police said officers stopped the man and saw the handle of a gun protruding from his clothing. He then ran, and officers chased him on foot as he went through barbed wire and into a business area. (kron4.com) Bystanders told officers the man may have jumped into a dumpster on Pestana Court. Police surrounded the dumpster, launched a drone, opened the lid, and used a police dog during the arrest. (kron4.com) Police identified the suspect as Fortino Preciado, 43. Fremont police said he was on parole for a prior resisting-arrest case when he was taken into custody again on Monday. (kron4.com) He was arrested on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a concealed firearm, and resisting arrest. Police said he was booked into Santa Rita Jail in Dublin. (kron4.com) Fremont police’s public news pages did not show a separate press release about the arrest as of April 23, 2026, and the department says its weekly blotter is sometimes unavailable because of limited staffing and resources.
