Chrysler Pacifica 2027 shown

Photos from the New York Auto Show surfaced of the 2027 Chrysler Pacifica, and Chrysler brand CEO Matt McAlear framed the reveal as part of Stellantis’s effort to listen more to customer needs. The Pacifica rollout is being presented as a family‑focused product within a broader Stellantis reset. (thetruthaboutcars.com) (carpro.com)

Chrysler used the New York International Auto Show on April 1 to unveil a refreshed 2027 Pacifica, the brand’s most important vehicle and now its clearest near-term bet. (media.stellantisnorthamerica.com) The 2027 model gets a redesigned front end, an illuminated wing badge, new projector headlamps, new paint colors and an adjustable-height power liftgate aimed at garages and other low-clearance spaces. Chrysler said the lineup starts at $41,495 in the United States for the LX trim. (media.stellantisnorthamerica.com) Chrysler said the Pacifica keeps its 287-horsepower 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 and nine-speed automatic transmission, with all-wheel drive available on Select, Limited and Pinnacle trims. The company also said the van remains the only minivan with second-row and third-row Stow ’n Go seats as standard equipment. (media.stellantisnorthamerica.com) The reveal came less than a month after Stellantis named Matt McAlear Chrysler brand chief executive officer on March 5, adding that job to his Dodge role and leadership of Alfa Romeo in North America. McAlear used the New York stage to tie the Pacifica to Chrysler’s next phase and said more plans would be discussed at Stellantis investor day on May 21 in Auburn Hills, Michigan. (media.fcanorthamerica.com, cnbc.com) That timing reflects how narrow Chrysler’s lineup has become. CNBC reported last week that Chrysler now sells only one family of vehicles, the Pacifica minivan line, even as the company says it has “a lot of things in the works.” (cnbc.com) The Pacifica is also carrying Chrysler’s case that minivans still have room to grow. CNBC, citing Edmunds, reported that minivans made up 1.7 percent of the United States market in 2017 and 2.4 percent in 2025, while the average large sport utility vehicle transaction price reached $77,215 versus $48,269 for a minivan. (cnbc.com) Chrysler is leaning hard on its history in that argument. The company said it created the minivan segment 43 years ago and has sold more than 16.6 million minivans, including more than 1.15 million Pacifica models. (media.stellantisnorthamerica.com) The vehicle’s manufacturing footprint also matters to Stellantis. CBC reported the 2027 Pacifica will continue to be built at the Windsor Assembly Plant in Ontario, where the company highlighted the updated model’s new lighting, badge and trim details. (cbc.ca) For now, Chrysler’s reset is arriving as a facelift, not a reinvention. The company brought a new badge, new trim strategy and a familiar family van to New York, and it is asking investors and buyers to wait until May 21 for the next chapter.
