Vietnam's tourism sector is experiencing a robust recovery and growth, with 2025 seeing a record 21.2 million international visitors, a 20% increase from 2024. This surge has positioned Vietnam as one of the fastest-growing tourism markets globally, outpacing the average growth in the Asia-Pacific region. China has reclaimed its position as Vietnam's largest source market, with over 5.28 million arrivals in 2025, a 41.3% increase from 2024. South Korea followed with 4.33 million visitors, while Russia saw the fastest growth, tripling its numbers from 2024. To sustain this growth, Vietnam is focusing on strategic initiatives, including visa policy improvements and digital transformation. The country now offers 90-day multiple-entry e-visas to citizens of all countries and has expanded visa-free entry to certain European nations. Digital platforms are also being upgraded to streamline bookings and enhance the visitor experience. Looking ahead, Vietnam has set ambitious goals to attract 35 million international tourists by 2030 and contribute 13-14% to the country's GDP. To achieve this, the country is investing heavily in tourism infrastructure, including new airports, expressways, and high-end tourism complexes. A $2 billion complex was recently launched in the Van Don Special Administrative Zone.
