Amber Lewis x Loloi Billie Rug Launch
The new Amber Lewis x Loloi Billie rug collection features cross-woven texture delivering remarkable depth and color variation. Each 7'6" x 9'6" rug is unique due to random color variations that mimic vintage pieces, with an intentionally faded and textured look for a lived-in aesthetic. The collection bears the Oeko-Tex label confirming no harmful substances in materials.
The Amber Lewis x Loloi partnership first launched in October 2021, debuting with seven rug collections, including the Billie. The collaboration is an extension of Lewis's signature "California cool" aesthetic, which focuses on creating laid-back, livable spaces that blend vintage and modern elements. At the core of the collaboration is a shared appreciation for vintage textiles. Lewis is known for incorporating authentic antique rugs in her design projects, which can cost upwards of $15,000. The Billie collection was designed to offer a similar well-worn, antique look at a more accessible price point. For instance, a 7'6" x 9'6" Billie rug is priced around $498. The Billie collection is power-loomed from 100% polyester, a process that makes the rugs durable, stain-resistant, and fade-resistant. Unlike many printed rugs, the Billie features an innovative cross-woven texture that provides a softer, more substantial feel underfoot. This technique also enhances the depth and color variation of the distressed patterns. Within the broader Amber Lewis x Loloi line, the Billie collection stands out as a printed design with added texture. Other collections in the collaboration include hand-knotted wool and cotton options like the Mulholland and Collins, and another printed collection called Georgie, which has a smoother, flat weave. Some of the hand-crafted rugs are made in India and are GoodWeave-certified, ensuring ethical production. Loloi has a history of successful collaborations with high-profile designers, including Joanna Gaines's Magnolia Home, Justina Blakeney, and Chris Loves Julia. The Amber Lewis partnership adds her distinct West Coast, lived-in aesthetic to Loloi's diverse range of designer offerings.
