Parsons Subsidiary to Produce Joint Cyber Hunt Kits
U.S. Cyber Command has issued an intent to award a contract to a Parsons subsidiary for the production of the Joint Cyber Hunt Kit (JCHK). The JCHK is a system used for defensive cyber operations. This award signals a mature pathway from prototyping to full operational fielding for the cyber toolkit.
- The sole-source contract awarded to Parsons' subsidiary, Sealing Technologies (SealingTech), has a ceiling of up to $500 million over a three-year performance period. This award followed a "Success Memo" issued by the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) in November 2025, validating SealingTech's prototype. - Parsons acquired SealingTech in 2023 to enhance its cyber operations capabilities for the defense and intelligence sectors. SealingTech has a track record of deploying more than 500 similar "Cyber Fly-Away Kits" to U.S. defense and intelligence clients. - The Joint Cyber Hunt Kit (JCHK) is designed as a portable, self-contained "security operations center in a box" for Cyber Protection Teams (CPTs). It is intended to standardize the equipment used for defensive cyber operations, including hunting for advanced persistent threats on military networks. - The JCHK is built to be deployable by a nine-person team and transportable in a suitcase for air travel, enabling rapid response to incidents globally. Its design focuses on modularity and the ability to operate in environments with low or no external connectivity. - The development pathway for the JCHK was managed by the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU), which selected multiple companies to develop prototypes. Other companies involved in the prototyping phase included World Wide Technology (WWT) and Omni Federal. - The JCHK prototype integrates AI capabilities to help operators automate repetitive analytical tasks, accelerate threat detection, and more quickly understand adversary behavior in unfamiliar network environments.
