In Pearson's analysis of nearly 80 million interactions, students using AI in instructor-led courseware were up to 24 times more likely to become active readers, a category that includes highlighting and note-taking. For standalone eTextbooks, a single interaction with an AI tool made a student three times more likely to engage in these behaviors. This surge in engagement is attributed to AI's ability to provide immediate, personalized feedback and support, which can enhance a student's sense of competence and motivation.
