Michelin adds NYC entries

Michelin added nine New York City restaurants to its 2026 New York guide this week, putting them in contention for stars or Bib Gourmand recognition. Michelin says it adds new restaurants to the guide twice a year, before the annual awards ceremony reveals stars and Bib Gourmands. Manhattan’s additions are Le Chêne in Greenwich Village, Hwaro in Midtown West, Elcielo New York in NoMad, and Cove in SoHo. Michelin says restaurants added to the selection are already on inspectors’ radar and can later be promoted to Bib Gourmand status or to one or more stars. Those criteria apply whether a restaurant is a casual burrito shop like Los Burritos Juárez or a tasting-menu counter like Hwaro. Michelin highlighted Clinton Hill wine bar Entre Nous, Crown Heights Cambodian spot Bong, and Park Slope tortilleria Vato, while Time Out noted that Vato is backed by the team behind one-star Corima and that I Cavallini comes from the group behind one-star The Four Horsemen. Time Out said Elcielo New York joins the list with a Latin America- and Colombia-focused tasting menu, while Cove was recognized for chef Flynn McGarry’s California cooking.
