Victorinox, JBS USA Form Strategic Partnership
Victorinox, the maker of the Swiss Army Knife, has formed a strategic partnership with JBS USA, a leading global food company. The two industry giants will unite to advance operational performance and yield optimization, likely focusing on JBS's food processing operations.
This partnership will see Victorinox's professional-grade knives, specifically designed for the meat processing industry, utilized across JBS USA's extensive operations. Victorinox's Fibrox Pro line is NSF certified, meeting high standards for public health protection, a key consideration for a major food processor. The collaboration aims to develop new products tailored to the evolving needs of modern food processing. This initiative will be spearheaded by Victorinox CEO Carl Elsener IV, representing the fourth generation of his family to lead the company. Victorinox produces a staggering 90,000 household and professional knives daily, making it Europe's largest knife manufacturer. JBS USA is the largest beef producer in the United States, employing over 78,000 people across dozens of facilities. The company has the capacity to process 28,000 cattle and 92,000 hogs per day. This partnership aligns with JBS's significant investments in operational efficiency. JBS USA is investing hundreds of millions into facility modernization, including a new fabrication floor and distribution center at its Greeley, Colorado, and Cactus, Texas, beef plants. The deal also complements JBS's ambitious sustainability targets. The company is the first global meat and poultry company to commit to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040 and is investing over $1 billion in emission reduction projects.
