Stoneridge Shopping Center in Pleasanton plans to add a Hollister store and two Japanese food tenants later in 2026. (patch.com) Patch reported April 14 that Hollister is scheduled to open in the third quarter, while Maruwu Seicha and Onigilly Japanese Kitchen are also headed to the mall later this year. (patch.com) Maruwu Seicha is a Japanese tea shop focused on matcha drinks, and Onigilly sells onigiri, the filled rice balls commonly eaten as grab-and-go food in Japan. Patch said Onigilly’s Stoneridge site would be its first East Bay location. (patch.com) The additions expand two categories Stoneridge already leans on: national apparel chains and casual food. Patch said Hollister will join existing clothing brands at the mall including Zara, Lululemon, Uniqlo and Fabletics. (patch.com) Stoneridge is still a large regional mall even as Pleasanton weighs a long-term remake of the property. Simon says the center has more than 165 stores, and Pleasanton officials approved key parts of a redevelopment framework in 2023 that could eventually bring up to 1,170 housing units to the site. (simon.com, pleasantonweekly.com) That leaves Stoneridge trying to do two things at once: fill storefronts now and plan for a mixed-use future later. Leasing listings reviewed this month still show a large former anchor box being marketed at the center. (loopnet.com, theeconiccompany.com) The mall’s location remains one of its main selling points. Simon says Stoneridge sits at Interstate 580 and Interstate 680 and across from the West Dublin/Pleasanton Bay Area Rapid Transit station, giving new tenants access to Tri-Valley drivers and rail riders. (simon.com) For shoppers, the near-term change is simpler: another teen apparel brand, a matcha counter and an onigiri shop are on the way before the year ends. (patch.com)
