HONOR Unveils AI-Powered Robots and Phones

At Mobile World Congress 2026, electronics brand HONOR showcased its vision for AI-integrated devices. The company debuted a robotic phone, a humanoid robot, and its new Magic V6 flagship, highlighting the rapid convergence of AI and robotics in consumer electronics.

The "Robotic Phone" features a motorized, 4-degree-of-freedom gimbal camera system that physically moves, allowing it to track subjects during video calls or recordings. This is powered by a custom micro motor that HONOR claims is 70% smaller than the industry average, enabling the phone to remain slim. The camera itself is a 200MP sensor paired with a three-axis stabilization system, and its development involved a partnership with professional cinema camera manufacturer Arri to enhance color processing. Beyond hardware, the phone's AI enables what HONOR calls "embodied AI interaction." The camera module can nod, shake its head, and even move to the beat of music, creating a more playful and interactive experience. Features like "AI SpinShot" allow for automatic 90 and 180-degree camera rotations while filming. The device is slated for a commercial launch in the second half of 2026. The unnamed humanoid robot is designed for consumer-facing roles like shopping assistance, workplace inspections, and "supportive companionship," rather than industrial labor. On stage, it performed a choreographed dance that included a moonwalk and a backflip, demonstrating its agility. HONOR's CEO, James Li, stated, "If the smartphone is an extension of our minds, the robot would be an extension of our hands." HONOR's broader strategy is centered on "Augmented Human Intelligence" (AHI), which aims to combine IQ with EQ (emotional intelligence) in its devices. The company announced the HONOR AI Connect Platform, with a goal to integrate over 20,000 AI services by the end of 2026, creating an open ecosystem for developers and partners. The new Magic V6 foldable is 8.75mm thick when folded and weighs 219 grams. It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor and contains a large 6,600mAh silicon-carbon battery that supports 80W wired fast charging. The device also boasts IP68 and IP69 ratings for water and dust resistance, a first for a foldable phone.
