A San Ramon outage that knocked out electricity to more than 6,000 Pacific Gas and Electric customers was cut to 847 within about 40 minutes on April 7. (patch.com) Patch reported the outage was first logged at 1:50 p.m. in a residential area east of Alcosta Boulevard and south of Bollinger Canyon Road. By 2:30 p.m., the affected-customer count had dropped below 1,000, according to Pacific Gas and Electric data cited by the site. (patch.com) Pacific Gas and Electric’s outage center says its maps show current planned and unplanned outages by address and are updated automatically every 15 minutes. The utility also directs customers to report outages online or by phone at 1-800-743-5002. (pge.com) (help.pge.com) The quick drop in the customer count suggests crews were able to restore most of the circuit fast, even as repairs continued for the remaining homes. Pacific Gas and Electric has not posted a cause in the publicly available summaries surfaced in search results. (patch.com) (pge.com) San Ramon has dealt with other recent power problems tied to the same broader area. In July 2024, CBS Bay Area reported a roughly 24-hour outage near Bollinger Canyon Road that Pacific Gas and Electric linked to extreme heat. (cbsnews.com) Pacific Gas and Electric later told neighbors in an October 2024 community update that earlier San Ramon outages had been caused by underground equipment problems. The utility said it restored service and would keep looking for ways to improve reliability. (nextdoor.com) As of April 20, Pacific Gas and Electric’s main outage page says 99.9% of customers systemwide have power, with dozens of current outages still listed across its territory. For San Ramon residents, the practical next step is the same one the utility keeps pointing to: check the outage map by address for the latest restoration status. (pge.com)
