The criticism from the Hawks broadcast team follows the Golden State Warriors' February trade of former No. 7 overall pick Jonathan Kuminga to Atlanta. The deal, which brought Kristaps Porziņģis to the Warriors, ended a sometimes-tense chapter for the 23-year-old forward in the Bay Area. Kuminga’s development within the Warriors' win-now structure was a point of friction, with his playing time often fluctuating. Head coach Steve Kerr acknowledged the difficulty, stating, "it was tricky trying to develop him while we were trying to win." Kuminga had reportedly expressed a desire for a trade amidst his inconsistent role. The desire to see the Curry brothers share the court comes after Seth Curry signed a one-year, rest-of-season contract with the Warriors on December 1, 2025. He will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the 2025-26 season.
