Cultivar Restaurant Opens Flagship in Sausalito
The restaurant Cultivar has opened a new flagship location in Sausalito. The opening expands the restaurant's presence in the Bay Area. It is part of a slate of new restaurant and bar openings in the region for February 2026.
- The new flagship location is situated at 690 Bridgeway in a historic 1915 building that also houses the Hotel Sausalito. The space has been completely renovated, featuring steel and brass accents and a large outdoor patio with views of the waterfront and Viña del Mar Park. - Cultivar is the creation of siblings Gingy Harris Gable and Jody Harris, third-generation stewards of their family's Napa Valley estate, which was purchased by their grandparents in 1958. The estate now includes an organic vineyard, a grove of heritage Mission olive trees, beehives, and culinary gardens that supply the restaurants. - The kitchen is centered around a Valoriani wood-fired oven imported from Tuscany, which will be used for artisanal pizzas and roasted dishes. - Executive Chef Matthew Curry, who has previously worked at Bay Area waterfront restaurants like Waterbar and Sam's Anchor Cafe, will lead the culinary teams at all three Cultivar locations. - The Sausalito culinary team also includes Chef de Cuisine Justin Bruckert, with experience from Station House and Sonoma Mission Inn, and Pastry Chef Candace Rowan, a Marin native. - This is Cultivar's third Bay Area location, joining existing restaurants on Chestnut Street in San Francisco and in Ghirardelli Square. - The wine program features limited-production, award-winning wines from the family's own Cultivar and Caspar Estate labels, alongside a full cocktail and non-alcoholic beverage program with a "garden-to-glass" approach. - The restaurant initially opened for dinner service only, with plans to add lunch and happy hour in the near future.
