TechBridge returns to UK
The TechBridge accelerator is returning in 2026 to help 20 Ukrainian startups access the UK market, backed by both governments and led by Blue Lake VC. The program is positioned as a cross‑border gateway for startups seeking UK commercial expansion this year. (tech.eu)
A United Kingdom-backed accelerator for Ukrainian startups is returning in 2026, with 20 companies set to get help entering the British market. (tech.eu) The program is part of the United Kingdom-Ukraine TechBridge and is led by Blue Lake Venture Capital, according to Tech.eu and a new British government procurement notice for “TechBridge Investment Accelerator Phase 3.” (tech.eu, find-tender.service.gov.uk) The Department for Business and Trade said the contract covers selecting high-potential Ukrainian technology small and medium-sized businesses, then giving them virtual and in-person training to improve their chances of raising United Kingdom investment. (find-tender.service.gov.uk) This is the third phase of a program the two governments launched as the United Kingdom-Ukraine TechBridge in January 2024 to connect Ukrainian companies with British investors, customers and partners. (gov.uk, find-tender.service.gov.uk) The British government has framed TechBridge as part of Ukraine’s economic recovery, saying the initiative is meant to support digital trade and investment while the war continues. The program also sits alongside the United Kingdom-Ukraine Digital Trade Agreement that London cited at launch in 2024. (gov.uk) Earlier rounds produced measurable deal flow. Tech.eu reported previous phases generated more than £10 million in new investment and business deals, while a June 2025 government communiqué said the prior accelerator cohort had raised $12 million in new business deals over 12 months. (tech.eu, gov.uk) The pipeline is active beyond London. In March 2026, a delegation of 25 Ukrainian artificial intelligence and cybersecurity businesses visited Cambridge through TechBridge and met local tech leaders and investors. (cambridgeshirepeterborough-ca.gov.uk) Ukraine’s startup institutions are also pushing founders outward. The Ukrainian Startup Fund says it is managed by the Ministry of Digital Transformation and runs programs to fund early-stage companies and present Ukrainian startups to international investors and conferences. (usf.com.ua, usf.com.ua, usf.com.ua) That gives the 2026 accelerator a narrower job: not basic startup training, but market entry. For the 20 selected companies, the test is whether TechBridge can turn wartime resilience into signed United Kingdom customers, investors and partnerships. (find-tender.service.gov.uk, tech.eu)
