Project Motor Racing Adds Ford Falcon
Project Motor Racing's version 1.7.0.0 update just deployed with the 2013 Ford Falcon V8 now available as free content for all players. The update expands the game's vehicle roster and enhances authenticity for V8 Supercars enthusiasts.
The 2013 Ford Falcon FG V8 was a product of V8 Supercars' "Car of the Future" era, which introduced a control chassis to reduce costs and attract new manufacturers. This generation of cars featured a 5.0-litre, naturally aspirated V8 engine producing over 635 horsepower, paired with a sequential transaxle and a spool differential. In the real-world 2013 V8 Supercars Championship, the FG Falcon was campaigned by teams such as Ford Performance Racing and Dick Johnson Racing. While the overall championship was won by Jamie Whincup in a Holden, the Falcon secured notable victories throughout the season. A major highlight for the Falcon in 2013 was victory at the prestigious Bathurst 1000, with Mark Winterbottom and Steve Richards piloting their Ford Performance Racing entry to the win. Will Davison also claimed the season's first win for Ford. The addition of this car to *Project Motor Racing* comes from developer Straight4 Studios, a team led by Ian Bell, who was previously at the helm of the *Project CARS* series. The game is published by GIANTS Software, known for the *Farming Simulator* franchise. *Project Motor Racing* utilizes a proprietary "Hadron" physics engine, which runs alongside the GIANTS Engine 10. This physics system aims for a high degree of realism, a key factor for simulating the raw, rear-wheel-drive nature of V8 Supercars that demands significant throttle control. V8 Supercars have a long history in video games, from the Codemasters *TOCA* series to appearances in the *Forza Motorsport* and *Gran Turismo* franchises. More hardcore simulations like *iRacing* have also featured various iterations of the Ford Falcon, providing a platform for dedicated online racing leagues.
