Boracay resort gets Michelin nod
Crimson Resort & Spa Boracay has been added to Michelin’s hotel selection, joining Crimson Resort & Spa Mactan in the guide’s hospitality listings (manilatimes.net). The placement appears in the broader rollout of Michelin recognition that extends beyond restaurants into notable hotels (manilatimes.net).
Crimson Resort & Spa Boracay has been added to the Michelin Guide’s hotel selection, giving the Philippine brand a second property in Michelin’s hospitality listings. (guide.michelin.com) The Boracay resort now appears on Michelin’s hotel site as a 192-room property in Punta Bunga Cove, Barangay Yapak, with three ocean-facing infinity pools and a private beach in Station Zero. (guide.michelin.com) It joins Crimson Resort & Spa Mactan in Cebu, which is already listed by Michelin as a 290-room resort in Seascapes Resort Town on Mactan Island. (guide.michelin.com) Michelin’s hotel program is separate from its restaurant stars. The company says its Philippines hotel page now lists 25 properties, including Boracay, Manila, Cebu, Palawan, Siargao, Tagaytay, Batangas and Sipalay. (guide.michelin.com) That expansion is recent. Philippine hotels first appeared in Michelin’s recommendations in 2024, when six properties from Manila, Cebu, Palawan and Siargao were included. (spot.ph) Boracay’s addition also gives the island another Michelin-listed stay. Michelin’s current Philippines page includes both The Lind Boracay and Crimson Resort and Spa, Boracay. (guide.michelin.com) Crimson’s owner, Filinvest Hospitality, said the Boracay listing puts the resort alongside its Mactan sister property and reflects Michelin’s broader recognition of hotels beyond restaurants. (filinvestgroup.com) For travelers, the change is simple: Michelin now treats Crimson Boracay as one of the bookable hotels it curates globally, extending a guide once known mainly for dining into high-end resort stays.
